Simone Biles Takes Home Bronze Medal in Balance Beam Final

Biles stepped back into competition after leaving the all-around team event last week after suffering from a case of the “twisties.”

Biles won the bronze medal in the balance beam, finishing just behind China’s Guan Chenchen and Tang Xijing.

It was Biles’ second medal of the Tokyo Games after getting the silver in the team all-around final despite dropping out after her vault attempt.

Biles received cheers from her teammates as she was on the balance beam. She had one connection issue in her attempt but never slipped and never faltered. She finished her performance with a double pike.

Biles also earned a bronze medal in beam at the 2016 Rio Games. With the newest addition to her hardware collection, she ties Shannon Miller as the most decorated Olympian in American gymnastics history. While each gymnast has seven medals to her name, Biles has more golds (4) than Miller (2).

The superstar gymnast now has seven total Olympic medals to her name and will leave the Tokyo Olympics as the most decorated American gymnasts of all time.
