The more I learn about Draymond Green, the more I start to actually like him. Sports Illustrated published a profile piece on Green where he talks about his college nickname, sleeping with the television on, and more. But in that piece, one thing stuck out to me.
In between the time he works on his game, Green also finds time to relax. Green chooses to chill out by watching basketball, mostly the WNBA.
“In the NBA there’s always a guy who is only around because he can jump,” Green told Sports Illustrated’s Lee Jenkins in a wide-ranging profile. “He doesn’t have a clue about the fundamentals. I learn more from the WNBA. They know how to dribble, how to pivot, how to use the shot fake.”
How often do NBA players admit to watching the WNBA? How many men admit to this? Not many and honestly, I don’t understand why. I appreciate Green’s honesty & I’m glad the WNBA is getting some love.
